Every little girl dreams of the day she will grow up and marry her own personal Prince Charming. From the time I was three years old, I practiced for my big day by waltzing down my imaginary aisle with a handful of wildflowers as my bouquet. When the time actually rolled around for me to get married, I was full of dreams of how the day would go. I had spent my childhood imagining the flowers, the music, and best of all the dress. When my grandmother, mother, and all of my aunts piled in a van to take me shopping for a wedding gown, I thought it would be the easiest part of the entire wedding planning process. Finding a gown was as simple as combing the racks until I saw the image in my dreams, right? Um… wrong. Wedding dress shopping quickly became a problem as I struggled to find the right dress for me. If you are a bride-to-be, take a few tips from me and save yourself some tears in the dressing room. Here are 3 steps to finding the perfect wedding gown.
1. Know Your Size, then Go Up One.
Wedding dresses are made small, no matter which designer you choose. It is like a cruel joke from the fashion industry, but if you wear a size 8, you will need a 10 or maybe even a 12 when you buy a wedding dress. Know this ahead of time and you won’t make the mistake of trying on your dream dress and finding out it is too small.
2. Consider a variety of styles.
Even if you always imagined yourself getting married in a big Cinderella style ball gown, don’t limit yourself to trying on clouds of tulle. Branch out and try on A-lines, straight styles, and Cathedral trains. You never know what you will fall in love with until you try them on.
3. Color is key.
I always assumed that I would wear a white wedding dress, just like the traditional images in my childhood fantasies. Unfortunately, when I got in the bridal shops and started trying them on, I looked more like a washed out zombie than a glowing bride in the stark white dresses. Instead, I chose a candlelight color that was slightly off white and worked with my skin tone. Don’t be afraid to alter the color of dresses you try on slightly until you find what works best for your complexion.

Every woman thinks she can plan her own wedding, but the truth is that the process can be really difficult. There are tons of decisions to make, from wedding favors to flowers and catering. If you don’t have a ton of support from friends and family, pulling off a large wedding can take a long time and completely stress a bride out. With this in mind, many women are choosing to hire a professional wedding planner. Before you rule it out, here are three great reasons why you might want to consider it!
First, a wedding planner will lower your stress levels. You don’t need to spend time worrying about whether the caterer has the head count right. Let the wedding planner do it. You don’t have to spend hours interviewing priests or sampling caterers. Let the wedding planner do it! A wedding planner can do all the time consuming tasks for you so you can enjoy your future husband and forget it.
Second, a wedding planner knows how to get the best deals. They know which florists use the freshest flowers. They know which dress companies usually run late on shipments and they know which caterers have a history for serving the most scrumptious food. Use this knowledge to your advantage as the wedding planner takes care of all these details.
Third, a wedding planner can be more objective than you can. Most brides desperately want to please all the people they love. A wedding planner will listen to what YOU want and then create a day that incorporates all of those things. Your grandma’s pleas for a Jewish wedding might make you second guess yourself, but the wedding planner won’t give her a second thought. A wedding planner is a great “buffer zone” to keep family conflicts from coming up during the planning process.

So what exactly do you buy a bride and groom that already seem to have everything? Nowadays, many people are waiting until they are older to get married and many couples that are getting married already have a house and all of the kitchen accessories that they need. Of course, that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t buy the married couple to be some sort of gift. After all, a wedding is a huge event in anyone’s life and should be remembered as such.

One of the big trends this year is alternative gift registries, and more companies are jumping on the bandwagon to offer these types of services. For example, the married couple will probably be taking a honeymoon vacation after their big day. Some travel agencies are starting to offer a gift registry to their customers so that people can buy them gift certificates to help offset the cost of the honeymoon.
I’ve also heard of couples registering with certain auto dealers and then people can buy gift certificates to help the married couple with the purchase of a new vehicle. These are just a couple examples and there are sure to be many more companies in various industries that will start to offer gift registries for married couples.
Many people may just decide to give a monetary gift to the married couple, but if the couple has made the decision to sign up for some type of alternative gift registry, then shouldn’t you simply buy something from their gift registry, even if it is just a gift certificate? If the married couple to be has gone out of their way to find an alternative gift registry, then you should help to fulfill their wishes on their wedding day.

For nearly 100 years homeowners have been looking for a way that they could add beauty to their home and value as well. And while there are a myriad of ways for this to happen, there has always been a question about the curb appeal of the home. It is very possible to add bushes and trees and to make your home look nice. But what are you supposed to do about those ugly walkways? Everyone knows that concrete is going to crack and that loose stone is going to allow weeds to break through. These ordeals simply make upkeep more of a hassle and it makes keeping your home looking nice a lot more difficult. Fortunately there is something that can be done about this. Almost 40 years ago a product was invented that has revolutionized the home improvement world. The product is called epoxy stone and it is amazing. Your walkways will never look the same again.
Epoxy stone application is not simply limited to your walkways, but this is the most common area. While the concrete that you have is going to crack, and it may already be cracked, epoxy stone will not only remove the cracks but they will never be seen again. This is great news for people that are worried about unsightly damage and the possibility of people tripping and falling because of the cracks in their walkways. Epoxy stone will make the surface smooth once again and it will last for years to come.
Epoxy stone can also make your walkways look like something from a movie screen. There are literally hundreds of choices that you have when it comes to colors. The stone used in this process is all natural and it comes in a variety of colors, From deep reds to amazing rainbows, there simply is not another product that can offer so much natural beauty. Once you have decided on the new color for your walkways you will then need to decide the size of the stone. From ½ inch stone to ¼ inch stone, the choice is yours.
How is this going to change your walkways? Easy. The epoxy stone is an all-natural quartz stone. This means that your walkways will be beautiful and strong. The rocks will not chip and break away. The process for the installation on your walkways is very simple. The stone will be mixed with a small amount of clear epoxy. Once the mixture has thoroughly combined, the stone will be poured out on the walkways and then troweled smooth. The overall thickness can range, depending on the concrete itself. Ultimately, any uneven areas will be removed and the walkways will become smooth, even, and absolutely stunning.

March is almost here and that can only mean one thing. Spring is just around the corner and I am so excited. It is my favorite time of year because the birds start chirping again and the flowers begin to bloom. Another thing that seems to happen this time of year is that I begin to get save the dates and invitation for weddings in the spring and summer. While I usually have at least one wedding to attend in the spring, this year they all seem to be landing in the summer.
I don’t know if they just really want to enjoy their big days in the hot July and August sun or if there is some other reason why the summer is so popular this year. What I do know is that I need to get started on finding the perfect gifts, hotel reservations and dates for all of these weddings. I usually have a go to gift that I bring to weddings, but I thought it might be time to switch up my gifts for the weddings I have on my calendar for this summer.
I haven’t figured out what to get them all yet, but I am sure it will come to me. Perhaps the warm weather that comes with spring and summer will give me a few ideas. This reminds me that I might have to go shopping for some new outfits to wear to the summer weddings. Yet another bonus of going to weddings, I get to go shopping for new clothes!

I know that many of you tend to think of weddings as a summertime activity, but Christmastime weddings can be very meaningful. After all Christmas is known as the day Jesus was born. How much more meaningful can you get than that? My parents got married on Christmas Day 58 years ago this Christmas and we are all so very happy for them.
Christmas is such a happy time of year that brings joy to all of our hearts. In much the same way weddings are very joyous occasions that tend to make everyone happy, especially the bride and groom! Since Christmas is noted as the day Jesus was born and he is our bridegroom it is fitting that someone get married on Christmas day I think.
If you do decide to have a Christmas wedding you can save a lot on decorations if you get married in a church because it will likely already be decorated for Christmas. I don’t know of many decorations that are more beautiful than Christmas decorations do you? If you decide to celebrate your Christmas day wedding outside and it happens to snow, you will have an entirely natural display of beauty for all to enjoy. I can imagine all the girls wearing those white muffs on their hands that were typically used in the olden days instead of carrying flowers.
I personally think it would be quite meaningful to get married on Christmas Day and very easy to decorate as well. If you are engaged and you have not yet set a date, why not make it simple for you and everyone involved and join with your mate Christmas Day!

I have to say that I am a daddy’s girl and I love my daddy with all my heart and soul. I have always looked up to him, except for the fact that he use to smoke. My dad actually began smoking at the very young age of 12 as a result of peer pressure. Back in his day, smoking was cool and everyone who was anyone had a cigarette hanging out of their mouth. He was getting ready to turn 50 when he decided to give up smoking. I was happy that he was going to try again, but I had seen him fail at this over and over again, so I was not very optimistic.
I remember as a kid taking my dad’s cigarettes and cutting them in half so that he would quit smoking once and for all. This didn’t help because he would just go out to the store and purchase more cigarettes. He knew that all of us kids wanted him to quit so badly that he would try over and over again to help make our dreams come true. I think he wanted it more for us then he even wanted it for himself.
As the invention of electronic cigarettes has come about I begin to see lots of advertisements for them in local newspapers and magazines. I have even seen a few disposable electronic cigarettes showing up on local store shelves. I decided that I would buy one of these disposable electronic cigarettes for my dad to see if this one last attempt for him to stop smoking would work. Much to my surprise it was easier for him to quit than I thought it would be.
I bought my dad the disposable electronic cigarette I had seen on the CocktailNerd e-cigarettes reviews on a Monday and by Tuesday afternoon he was asking for another one. I figured if he really liked them, it was a good idea for me to go ahead and purchase a kit instead of continuing to buy disposable versions of them. I researched the best electronic cigarettes by reading the V2 Cig reviews and the Vapor Couture Reviews. Finally, after I read the CocktailNerd review of South Beach Smoke e-cigarettes, I knew that was the one my dad would love. I ordered a starter kit right away and my dad loved it.
It was only about a matter of a couple months before my dad started leaving his electronic cigarette at home when he would go out. He had already been able to stop smoking his traditional cigarettes and was about to give up smoking altogether right before my eyes with the aid of electronic cigarettes.
I would like to thank the makers of electronic cigarettes for giving me my dad back! He is now enjoying the best health he has ever had and is cigarette free for the first time ever! I am forever grateful for what electronic cigarettes have done for my family!

There’s nothing quite as romantic as a beach wedding. No matter how good you are when it comes to decorating, you’ll never be able to come up with anything that matches the beauty that Mother Nature created. There’s three things you can do to make sure you’re beach wedding will truly be a day to remember.
The one thing you can’t control when it comes to a beach wedding will be the weather. You need to have a backup plan. Not only should your back up plan be water proof in case it rains, you should also make sure it provides adequate shelter from the wind. You should know on your wedding morning whether or not you’ll need your backup shelter so you’ll have time to get it ready to go.
When you’re writing up your invitations, you need to make sure you make it very clear to your guests, that they’ll be attending a beach wedding. Knowing the location of the event will ensure that all of your guests have dressed appropriately and don’t attend your wedding in ridiculously in appropriate shoes.
You’ll need to check in with the township hall that helps manage the beach where you plan to have your wedding. Although it’s not the case with all beaches, it’s possible that in order to use the beach for the wedding, you’ll have to get a permit. Sometimes it can take time for the permit to go through so you’ll want to do this well in advance of your wedding day.

The world is changing and one of the things changing along with the world is the way people think about marriage. For as long as anyone can remember, marriage was something that everyone did. Now, many wonder if the whole concept of marriage will eventually become obsolete.
While the odds are pretty good that people will continue to get married for a very long time to come, it is easy to see why people have started questioning the validity of marriage. Men and women are no longer ridiculed and shunned for having sex prior to marriage, and most couples are advised to live together before exchanging vows. Many people have even taken to raising children without first getting married.
Another trend many have started to notice is that people are putting off marriage until later in their life. This seems to be especially true of women. The number of women getting married in their early twenties is decreasing. Now more women are opting to get their career underway and on the right track before they start to think about falling in love, getting married, and the possibility of starting a family. It is hard to say if it is because the couples are older and have more assets, or simply because they have less faith in their ability to make the marriage last, but it seems like both parties are more actively pursuing the idea of pre-nuptial agreements and making their expectations about marriage very clear long before they walk down the aisle.
Even the actual marriages themselves are evolving. Although there are exceptions, gone are the days when the man ruled the house and the wife cared for the children. Today marriages tend to be more about equal partnership, with each member taking a stand and being responsible for certain aspects of the union.

Marriage is one of those funny things. When you are young and first get married, you think that all those people telling you that it is difficult are just being silly. The two of you love each other and want to spend all of your time together. It isn’t until later that you learn just how much work marriage really is. I guess I’m lucky, my husband and I have always managed to work things out and never had a problem communicating. Even though there have been some rough patches along the way, we’ve managed to make it through and have actually enjoyed the ride.
One of the things we never counted on was getting old and how much that was going to change our lives. We are still able to drive, but getting out of the house is not always easy, and we try to limit our outings as much as we possibly can. However when you take as many pills as we do, limiting the number of times you have to drive from one end of town to the other is never easy. There were days that it seemed like we were constantly going into town so that we could buy Flexeril or buy Amoxicillin. During the summer when the weather is nice and the roads are clear, all of the driving really wasn’t a problem, but during the winter things got nerve wracking.
Last year the weather was particularly bad and while I was making a trip to the local pharmacy to buy Ultracet, I was struck by another car. No one was hurt, and the car was only a little dented, but the incident still scared me. I couldn’t help thinking about how bad things could have gotten. What it I’d totaled the car, than what would we have done.
This is when my son stepped in and told us about online pharmacies. He said that we could go online anytime that we needed to buy Fioricet, Tramadol 50mg, or any of the other prescription drugs my husband and I take. He said that not only would we be able to place our order online, but that the online pharmacy would also shop the prescription directly to the house. This meant that when the weather was bad and the roads questionable, we wouldn’t have to leave the house. My husband and I could stay tucked away in our house until the conditions were favorable enough for us to run out to get groceries.
I’ll admit that I was nervous at first. I don’t have a very good understanding about how the internet works and the idea of ordering my prescriptions online seemed like something that would be really complicated. My son pointed out that I had no problem with things like emails and FaceBook and that if I could handle those I would be able to handle ordering the drugs we needed. He walked me through the process and I have to admit that he was right. Using the online pharmacy has made both mine and my husband’s life much easier.

When you are planning your wedding, it can be highly stressful. Every bride has at least a few fears. What if I fall when I’m walking down the aisle? What if the bridesmaids’ dresses don’t fit? What if the flowers don’t match? What if my Grandmother hates my dress? It’s normal to have fears as a future bride, but there are a few things you can do to make sure your big day goes off without a hitch. Here are 3 wedding mistakes to avoid when you are planning your wedding.
1. Don’t try to make everyone happy.
No matter how much you love your mom, grandma, and best friend, they all have different opinions. Each one will have a different preference when it comes to choosing dresses, flowers, and locations. You can’t please everyone so don’t even try. Choose the things that make you and your future husband happy and then kindly ask everyone to support your decisions.
2. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself.
This isn’t the Olympics, it’s a wedding. The point is that you are marrying the guy you love and that is all that really matters. Keep perspective as you are making the plans and don’t put too much pressure on yourself.
3. Don’t forget to plan the ceremony.
A lot of brides get so caught up in planning the dress, the catering, the flowers, and the reception that they forget the most important part: the ceremony. Take some time to think about what you want it to be like. Will you use traditional vows or write your own? What kind of music will you play? The ceremony is the part of the wedding everyone will remember so make sure it gets adequate time in the planning process.

Bingo has been a part of my life for, well, forever. I was first introduced to the game when my grandparents took me along to the weekly games at the community center. I was a cute kid and everyone doted on me. When my grandparents died I started to play bingo online as a way to feel a little closer to them. I would play bingo games until the very early morning and imagine my grandparents sitting beside me.
The game actually helped me forget my grief. Focusing on the game and trying to win took all of my energy. There were times when the only time of the day when I didn’t feel sad was when I was staring at the colorful graphics of the bingo game and trying to concentrate on the information contained on my bingo cards. I am not sure what I would have done if I had not been able to play bingo. I started to hunt out the best online bingo games as an attempt to feel closer to loved ones I had lost, I never imagined that doing so would help me find a brand new love.
Today most of the websites that offer bingo bonus games also have chat features and strongly encourage the members to get to know one another. There was this one guy who always seems to be online at the same time as I was, so we were constantly talking. Pretty soon the conversations became more personable and we started emailing and Skyping one another. I quickly discovered that in addition to loving to play bingo games , he was also really funny and very cute. The next thing I knew we had fallen in love with one another.
The relationship wasn’t easy. The problem with meeting someone on a website that is designed to provide people with an opportunity to play bingo games is that many of the members are from opposite ends of the world, which is exactly what happened with my boyfriend and myself. He lived in Great Britain and I lived in Massachusetts, but after a great deal of debate and negotiating, we are on the same side of the ocean and are preparing for our wedding day.
It might sound cheesy, but I have decided that our wedding theme is going to be bingo. The invitations were designed to look like bingo cards and at the reception we are going to play bingo instead of dancing. I think my grandparents would be thrilled with our plans.
